NORWALK JAIL JAIL:

Location:

  • 12335 Civic Center Drive, Norwalk, California 90650

  • Jail Phone: (562) 863-8711

  • Bail Bond Phone:

  • Parking is available on site

Visiting Hours:

  • You may visit an inmate at the Norwalk Station Jail, which is operated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department Monday through Sunday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Because the Norwalk Station Jail's visiting hours and roster of inmates who are eligible for visits vary and are subject to change without notice, you should always call the Jail before visiting.

  • Attorneys, bail bondsmen and members of the clergy may visit at any time for as long as they like.

  • IMPORTANT: After about 24 to 48 hours, the arrestee/inmate will be transferred to another jail. This transfer usually leads to a longer time in Jail, resulting in anywhere from 12-24 hours as additional paperwork is conducted. To avoid the extra jail time, we always recommend that the bail bond process should be initiated as soon as possible, so the defendant can avoid the transfer process altogether.

Visiting Procedures:

  • Inmates are permitted only one visit per day for 15 minutes. One (1) adult may visit at one time. A child may not be counted as an adult visitor. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. Attorneys, clergymen and bail bondsmen may visit at any time for as long as they like.

  • Only visitors with a valid ID will be allowed to visit inmates at the Jail. Officers at the Jail may deny visitation rights to anyone for any number of reasons.

Telephone Access & Mail:

  • During booking, the arrestee may make at least one free telephone call. Arrestees/Inmates may not receive calls or phoned-in messages, but may make collect calls when permitted to do so. Since arrestees will be housed at the Norwalk Station Jail for only a limited amount of time, you should not attempt to send mail to an inmate at the Norwalk Station Jail.

Personal Property:

  • Any time after arrest, an arrestee/inmate may authorize the release of his personal property to anyone unless that property has been entered into evidence. If property has been entered as evidence, it will not be available for release until after the criminal case is concluded.
