LONG BEACH JAIL:

Location:

  • 400 W. Broadway, Long Beach, CA 90802.

  • Jail Phone: (562) 570-7260

  • Bail Bond Phone:

  • Parking is available at the Jail and on the streets surrounding the jail which are mostly metered.

Visiting Hours:

  • All visitations at the Long Beach Jail are conducted through video conferencing. Visiting hours at the Long Beach Jail ("the Jail") are determined by the nature of the charge(s) against the inmate that you may wish to visit. If the inmate has been charged with a misdemeanor, visiting hours are daily, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. If the inmate has been charged with a felony, visiting hours are daily, 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. If the inmate has been sentenced, visiting hours are daily from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Because the Jail's visiting hours and roster of inmates who are eligible for visits vary and are subject to change without notice, you should always call the Jail before visiting.

  • IMPORTANT: In short order after booking, the arrestee/inmate will be transferred to another jail. This transfer usually leads to a longer time in Jail, resulting in anywhere from 12-24 hours as additional paperwork is conducted. To avoid the extra jail time, we always recommend that the bail bond process should be initiated as soon as possible, so the defendant can avoid the transfer process altogether.

  • Attorneys, clergymen and bail bondsmen are permitted to have face-to-face visits with arrestees/inmates; and, they may visit at any time for as long as they like.

Visiting Procedures:

  • Visits with inmates are 15 minutes. Although an inmate may receive two visits per day, the second visit is not guaranteed. During each permitted visit, an inmate may have one (1) adult visitor and one (1) minor. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

  • Attorneys, clergymen and bail bondsmen may visit at any time for as long as they like, they are encouraged to come before or after general visiting hours because the video conferencing equipment being used is very limited.

  • Only visitors with a valid ID will be allowed to visit inmates at the Jail. A person who has been in custody at the Jail within the last six months cannot visit an inmate at the Jail.

Telephone Access & Mail:

  • During booking, an arrestee may be allowed to make two-three (2-3) free telephone calls. Once booked, an arrestee/inmate may make unlimited collect telephone calls during program hours.

Personal Property:

  • Any time after arrest, an arrestee/inmate may authorize the release of his personal property to anyone unless that property has been entered into evidence. If property has been entered as evidence, it will not be available for release until after the criminal case is concluded.
