  • Jail Phone: (213) 485-5125

  • Paid and metered parking is available nearby.

Visiting Hours:

  • You may visit an inmate at the Los Angeles Police Department Hollywood Community Jail & Police Station Monday – Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Jail's visiting hours and roster of inmates who are eligible for visits vary and are subject to change without notice. Therefore, you should always call the Jail when planning a visit.

  • The Hollywood Jail generally books arrestees from the following communities: Argyle, Cahuenga Pass, East Hollywood, Fairfax, Hobart, Hollywood, Hollywood Hills, Hollywood/La Brea, Little Armenia, Los Feliz, Melrose District, Mount Olympus, Sierra Vista, Spaulding Square, Sunset Strip, Thai Town, Vine and Willoughby.

  • IMPORTANT: After about 24-48 hours, the arrestee/inmate will be transferred to another jail. This transfer usually leads to a longer time in Jail, resulting in anywhere from 12-24 hours as additional paperwork is conducted. To avoid the extra jail time, we always recommend that the bail bond process should be initiated as soon as possible, so the defendant can avoid the transfer process altogether.

  • Attorneys, clergymen and bail bondsmen are permitted to have face-to-face visits with arrestees/inmates; and, they may visit at any time for as long as they like.

Visiting Procedures:

  • Generally, an inmate may receive one 15 minute visit per day every day of the week. During each permitted visit, an inmate may have up to one (1) visitor. Visitors under the age of 18 (minors) must be accompanied by an adult and have an ID. Attorneys, clergymen and bail bondsmen may visit at any time for as long as they like.

  • Only visitors with one of the following valid forms of ID will be allowed to visit inmates at the Jail:

    • California Identification Card

    • Driver's License (any state)

    • U.S. Military Identification

    • Passport/Visa

    • Mexican Consulate Card

    • Permanent Resident Card

    • Valid School Identification Card or Birth Certificate (if visitor is a minor).

  • Although officers at the Jail may deny visitation rights to anyone for any number of reasons, visitors with outstanding warrants, traffic or parking tickets, ex-felons, persons on probation and persons formerly incarcerated in State prison may visit the Jail.

  • All visitors and all personal property brought into the Jail may be searched. Visitors in possession of weapons, illegal drugs or contraband may be arrested. Visitors may bring personal items, including but not limited to purses, cell phones, back packs and briefcases, into the visiting area of the Jail.

Telephone Access & Mail:

  • During booking, the person being held in jail, (the "arrestee"), may make three (3) free telephone calls. Once booked, an arrestee may make unlimited collect telephone calls from the Jail. Because most inmates will be held at the Hollywood Jail for no more than 48 hours, inmates should not be sent mail.

Personal Property:

  • Any time after arrest, an arrestee/inmate may authorize the release of his personal property to anyone unless that property has been entered into evidence. If property has been entered as evidence, it will not be available for release until after the criminal case is concluded.
