HERMOSA BEACH JAIL:

Location:

  • 540 Pier Avenue, Hermosa Beach, California 90254

  • Jail Phone: (310) 318-0360

  • Bail Bond Phone:

  • Parking is available in a parking lot across the street

Visiting Hours:

  • You may visit an inmate at the Hermosa Beach Jail, which is operated by the Hermosa Beach Police Department, Monday to Thursday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Because the Jail's visiting hours and roster of inmates who are eligible for visits vary and are subject to change without notice, you should always call the Jail before visiting.

  • Visits may be supervised by a jailor. Generally, only one person is permitted to visit an inmate at one given time. Visits are 20-30 minutes per visit. Prior permission should be obtained before bringing a minor to the Jail to visit an inmate.

  • IMPORTANT: After about 48 hours, the arrestee/inmate will be transferred to another jail. This transfer usually leads to a longer time in Jail, resulting in anywhere from 12-24 hours as additional paperwork is conducted. To avoid the extra jail time, we always recommend that the bail bond process should be initiated as soon as possible, so the defendant can avoid the transfer process altogether.

  • Attorneys, clergymen and bail bondsmen are permitted to have face-to-face visits with arrestees/inmates; and, they may visit at any time for as long as they like.

Visiting Procedures:

  • Only visitors with a valid ID will be allowed to visit inmates at the Jail. Persons who are on parole, probation or have outstanding warrants are not permitted to visit. Visitors may be searched.

Telephone Access & Mail:

  • During booking, the person being held in the Hermosa Beach Jail may make three (3) free telephone calls. Once housed, inmates may make unlimited collect calls. Since arrestees will be housed at the Hermosa Beach Jail for only a limited amount of time, you should not attempt to send mail to an inmate at the Hermosa Beach Jail.

Personal Property:

  • Any time after arrest, an arrestee/inmate may authorize the release of his personal property to anyone unless that property has been entered into evidence. If property has been entered as evidence, it will not be available for release until after the criminal case is concluded.
