HAWTHORNE JAIL:

Location:

  • 12501 Hawthorne Blvd., Hawthorne, California 90250

  • Jail Phone: (310) 349-2730

  • Bail Bond Phone:

  • Parking is available at the facility and on the street.

Visiting Hours:

  • You may visit an inmate at the Hawthorne Jail, which is operated by the City of Hawthorne, Monday through Sunday from 7:00 pm. to 8:00 pm. Because the visiting hours and roster of inmates who are eligible for visits vary and are subject to change without notice, you should always call the Jail before visiting.

  • Inmates at the Hawthorne Jail are allowed to have one 15 minute visit per day. Visiting time may be extended if circumstances permit. The number of visitors allowed varies. Contact the Jail to find out how many visitors will be allowed to visit at one given time. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. Generally, attorneys, clergymen and bail bondsmen may visit at any time.

  • IMPORTANT: After about 48 hours, the arrestee/inmate will be transferred to another jail. This transfer usually leads to a longer time in Jail, resulting in anywhere from 12-24 hours as additional paperwork is conducted. To avoid the extra jail time, we always recommend that the bail bond process should be initiated as soon as possible, so the defendant can avoid the transfer process altogether.

  • Attorneys, clergymen and bail bondsmen are permitted to have face-to-face visits with arrestees/inmates; and, they may visit at any time for as long as they like.

Visiting Procedures:

  • Only visitors with a valid ID will be allowed to visit inmates at the Jail. Officers at the Jail may deny visitation rights to anyone for any number of reasons.

Telephone Access & Mail:

  • During booking, the person being held in the Hawthorne Jail may make three free telephone calls. Once housed, inmates may make unlimited collect calls. Since arrestees will be housed at the Hawthorne Jail for no more than 48 hours, excluding holidays and weekends, you should not attempt to send mail to an inmate at the Hawthorne Jail.

Personal Property:

  • Any time after arrest, an arrestee/inmate may authorize the release of his personal property to anyone unless that property has been entered into evidence. If property has been entered as evidence, it will not be available for release until after the criminal case is concluded.
