  • Jail Phone: (310) 605-6500

  • Bail Bonds Phone:

  • Street parking is usually available.

About this Facility:

  • Men who are arrested and taken for booking and processing at the Compton Station will generally be transferred to the Twin Towers Jail Complex within a few hours. This transfer usually leads to a longer time in Jail, resulting in anywhere from 12-24 hours as additional paperwork is conducted. To avoid the extra jail time, we always recommend that the bail bond process should be initiated as soon as possible, so the defendant can avoid the transfer process altogether.

  • Women are generally not taken to the Compton Jail, they are generally taken to the Century City Station, and then transferred to the Lynwood Jail. This transfer usually leads to a longer time in Jail, resulting in anywhere from 12-24 hours as additional paperwork is conducted. To avoid the extra jail time, we always recommend that the bail bond process should be initiated as soon as possible, so the defendant can avoid the transfer process altogether.

  • IMPORTANT: If the inmate is transferred to another facility prior to being bailed out, this transfer usually leads to a longer time in Jail, resulting in anywhere from 12-24 hours as additional paperwork is conducted. To avoid the extra jail time, we always recommend that the bail bond process should be initiated as soon as possible, so the defendant can avoid the transfer process altogether.

Telephone Access & Mail:

  • During booking, the person being held in the Compton Jail, may make unlimited free telephone calls. Once housed, inmates have access to phones and may make collect calls. Since arrestees will be housed at the City of Industry Jail for no more than 24-48 hours, you should not attempt to send mail to an inmate at the City of Industry Jail.

  • If they are not bailed out of this jail rather quickly, male defendants will be transferred to Twin Towers County Jail and women will be transferred to Lynwood, also known as CRDF jail for women.

Personal Property:

  • Any time after arrest, an arrestee/inmate may authorize the release of his personal property to anyone unless that property has been entered into evidence. If property has been entered as evidence, it will not be available for release until after the criminal case is concluded.
